GRAFFITI VS. SOCIETY

What do you see when you see these three pictures? Whats the first thing that comes to your mind?Do the words ghetto or dirty come to mind? How bout places like New York or Philadelphia or DC? None of these come to my mind!!! I think that this is ART!!! ART as in high art. To me these are the pieces that should be auctioned off to the rich people. I take this to be high art becuase it takes so much to make art called graffiti. To cover a complete wall of paint and ideas is amazing to me.
Graffiti is known to society as the art of the Hip Hop world. As far as I know, it statred in the Bronx of New York and spreaded to rural places
such as Washington DC, other spots in New York, Philadelphia, LA and many more other places. THIS TYPE OF ART SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED. When I see murals such as these it amazes me at how detailed or not detailed it is also how creative and colorful they are.
To me pictures like these make the city what it is. This makes my home, home. It gives me a sense of comfort to see these on random walls. It saddens me when people relate to them as trash or something that wosrens the city and promote viloence.
Graffiti, like other pieces of art, are expressions made through people. Who are we to call someones art work "trash"? To see things like

this to me is an inspiration that "nothing can stop me." They wrote and drew on walls dispite what people thought of them or their art work, so I can do the same. Strive for my goals no matter what people may say is not capable for me to achieve or may say that I am not capable to achieve becuase of who I am. This type of art work encourages me to live in a "NO LIMITS" world to do what ever i want to do and even though it may not be pleasing to other people it please me.
